Time to share more of our weekend in Paris, so let's get to it...
We walked along the Seine River as we made our way to the Louvre Museum. It was quite a cold walk, however, we really wanted to see as many sights as possible in the short amount of time we had in Paris, therefore we braved the elements.
My oldest son took a liking to this Smart car and has decided he needs one. I'll have to say they're rather cute and certainly look as if they'd be incredibly easy to park, which is a huge bonus in Europe.
Here are more views along the Seine...
We've arrived at the Louvre. This is just one small section of an incredibly large, spectacular museum...
We'd seen the pyramids in photos before, so this was a cool sight to see in person.
Just another view of the outside before we head inside...
Hey, we're in a museum in Paris... act like you got some learnin' here!
Wow! This place is so massive... it would take days to see everything. We didn't have days, so we hit some of the highlights.
This was an interesting sculpture, basically showing a lion sinking its teeth (and claws, which cannot be seen from this view) into a man's backside. Ouch!
I don't blame this guy at all for wanting to kill this critter. It just looks vicious, don't you think? You go, big green guy!
This reminded us of the Statue of Liberty.
This section of the museum was particularly interesting to the boys as my oldest had studied about similar cultures in school, and of course the most important reason being... it reminded them of Indiana Jones. It all made sense then.
This is the famous Venus de Milo.
Gorgeous, huh? Can you imagine how long this must have taken?
We've decided, with all our knowledge and highly trained artistic eyes, that most sculptors tend to focus on either private body parts or heads. Go ahead... tell me we're wrong.
A trip to the Louvre would not be complete without a glimpse of the Mona Lisa. Did you hear me? I said THE Mona Lisa! We couldn't believe we were even allowed in the same room as the painting, much less given the green light to take photos.
We strolled through the mall attached to the Louvre. Take a look at these beautiful decorations...
All that culture made us thirsty, so we stopped at Starbuck's and got ourselves some hot java. And while we sipped pure joy in a mug, the boys did this...
So... just a quick rundown before we move on to the next set of photos. We've visited both Notre Dame and the Louvre, and seen some lovely sights along the Seine River as well. Tune in for more Weekend in Paris...

Great photos - I love Paris!
Merry Christmas to you and your family! See you soon -

I louvre the louvre. It is probably one of my favorite places on earth-I could live there... or at least spend hours upon hours just "being" in the louvre!
Merry Christmas friend~
