Why did the boy climb the fence?

Do you ever wonder what motivates kids to do some of the things they do? For instance, I wondered what this kid was thinking when he proceeded to climb the fence surrounding the soccer fields at a game a couple of weeks ago.

I was watching my son play soccer, when all of a sudden, my attention was drawn to this kid, who apparently has Spider-Man-like qualities because he was MOVING up that fence!

Was the kid hoping to draw a crowd that would "Oooh" and "Aaah" over his great feat or was he oblivious to the crowd and simply doing what boys do?

The kid seemed to have no trouble climbing UP the fence, but climbing DOWN was a little different story. He was cold busted as someone spied him and told him to get down, and he got to this point and stalled, not knowing how to proceed from here. An adult had to help him the rest of the way.

So... why DID the boy climb the fence anyway? Because it was there of course!
